Chie Aoki

About the Artist

There is little information in English on the web about Japanese sculptor Chie Aoki. It seems she is about 30 years old and is a graduate of the Kanazawa College of Art. Her majestic sculptures depict sinuous human forms – with feet but no faces – that appear to morph or melt into bulbous masses often in a different hue or texture.  Her arresting and strangely attractive figures are thought provoking, memorable and mysterious .
