Valero Doval
Artist Bio
Valero Doval moved from his native Spain to London after studying fine arts in Valencia. Having received a Creative Futures Award from Creative Review magazine in 2005, he began taking on freelance illustration commissions. Doval has produced illustrations for a diverse range of worldwide clients including Paul Smith, Orange, and Volkswagen. His work is featured in several publications including The Picture Book: Contemporary Illustration by Pentagram and Into the Nature by Die Gestalten Verlag. Doval describes his work as “sometimes about my life, sometimes about the lives of the others, and sometimes about the life of nobody. I love hand-drawn illustration as much as using collage, mixing different things to create something new… I find beauty in diversity, in the combination of dissimilar people, plants, animals, things, spaces, feelings, or thoughts…” (Flavorpill)
