About The Artist
Leah Perry graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University in 2012. Foremost a painter, she also enjoys sculpture, digital media, and print media including lithography, etching, silkscreen and relief. Her ideas are generated from inspiration in the urban environment; graffiti, detritus, decay, but also architecture and printed material are the starting point for layering different icons and symbols in her work. Themes such as language, technology, and the relationship between knowledge and prosthesis, strongly informs the subsequent build up of drawn or painted marks on the surface of paper or canvas.
