STREAM: Motion Sickness by Hot Chip

You probably wouldn’t think it on first glance, but these five vaguely IT-ish looking fellas are responsible for one of the most enjoyably left-of-center dance songs of the year. “Motion Sickness” starts off about as unassuming as Hot Chip look. Some faint background chatter, a quaint little synth line and some shakers ease the song in. Then the tuba (yes, tuba) drops. The walls start to shake. It feels so massive it almost gives you actual motion sickness. But in a good way. It’s like when you’ve had too much wine. Not so much that when close your eyes you get the spins, but enough that your face feels flush and the floor doesn’t feel quite so certain. Listen to it below, hopefully on some giant speakers.
