MP3: Twins by Gem Club

Some musicians seem capable of (or maybe desirous of) only writing “bedroom” songs. They are songs that can only occupy a very small space. But when you hear them, you are drawn into that small space. For a few minutes, that small space becomes the whole world. I imagine it’s like being some sort of microorganism caught in a pool during low-tide. For a brief window, that little tidal pool is your whole world. And although that world is much smaller, it is no less wonderful. Gem Club specializes in those types of bedroom songs, where less is more, open space is a friend and there is no rush. Whispered vocals, spindly cello, and piano so soft you can hear the key strokes. There is no rush.
