Jane LaFazio

Artist Statement

I am a mixed media artist, usually working in paper and cloth.

As you look at my art, I hope you’ll see the common theme of texture and color. I’m inspired by the symbols within traditional folk arts and those from my own surroundings in beautiful San Diego, California, plus the icons of Mexico and Asia. I love travel, and the thrill of discovering a new art technique, unusual color scheme, intricate pattern or fabulous piece of fabric.

I believe I’m living the life I was meant to life, that of an artist, art teacher, and partner of my beloved husband.

very beautiful stuff! Really love the Mexican influences, particularly in the first piece, but there are a lot of cool mixtures in there. Nice!
