Artist Statement

I am pursuing two bodies of work simultaneously. The acrylic paintings are made by redrawing a found image one part at a time, allowing for doodle-like digressions and resulting in odd myopic distortions. The plasticine pieces are done directly on the wall, pushing and manipulating the clay by hand and leaving a surface covered with fingerprints. What unifies these two approaches is an interest in the physical distortion of socially charged images (NYFA).
