About The Artist
Erik Jones has miraculous ability with the paintbrush. He presents to the viewer a spectral intensity that imbues a sense of erudite passion that is certainly rare in it’s allotment in the world. Jones decorates his figures in nostalgically bright colors but the sense of mystery is unmistakable. One feels that there are things yet to be unveiled while viewing. As Jones puts it, “it’s not only a salubrious experimentation with the figure but also an exploration of mediums.” To create such work Jones uses various types of media: watercolor, pencil, pastel, acrylic, oil, as well as other medias and is executed on Rives BFK paper.
