Escape Into Life, online arts journal, pushes the boundaries of visual art and
literature, blending the two together until they become one poem – a work of Visual Poetry.
Inspired by life’s everchanging environment, self taught artist Christina Baker has chosen acrylics as her medium of choice and picks up additional elements of mixed media when the desire arises. These competing elements bring the original life you can see in her work which Christina calls “extremely intuitive.” Christina prefers to work mostly in the abstract and impressionist genres, and she enjoys the challenge of creating harmony between styles that most would consider non-complimentary.
“I’m a big fan of anything cross-over, so I tend to apply this attraction to my work.”
Her ability to find synthesis between the use of traditional artist materials, while keeping a hand in contemporary style, creates her unique and esthetically pleasing technique. Soothing tones, pops of color and asymmetric movement also create a desirable balance of elements to Christna’s work.
