The Windmill Farmer is a captivating silent animation showing the brutality and beauty of nature’s seasonal cycle. Beginning with the titular farmer planting his windmill shoots in the ground, we see his ‘plants’ grow into massive turbines before nature takes its cruel toll.

Miwa Matreyek creates performances where real shapes and virtual images trade places, amid layers of animation, video and live bodies.

Swiss illustrator Pierre-Abraham Rochat studied Media and Interaction Design at ECAL (Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne) from 2001 to 2005.

I won’t post the first animation or short film that grabs my attention, but this work by graphic designer Steven Bussey is novel in its use of kinetic typography and motion graphics. We can thank Sia, Australian pop singer, for the curious, poetic lyrics to “Academia”.
