Escape Into Life, online arts journal, pushes the boundaries of visual art and
literature, blending the two together until they become one poem – a work of Visual Poetry.
It’s the moment of waking up from a good dream to a reality that you'd have just as soon not faced, a reality made all the more harsh, uncomfortable, in the wake of that good dream. A dream that seemed as real as waking reality, perhaps, in color and sound and touch, sensations that fade all too quickly, and run away from you when you try to remember them in any detail the longer you are awake. Perhaps a dream where you wake up as if being dragged from the bottom of the depths, unwillingly, painfully. Maybe your heart breaks just a bit in the recognition that it was simply a dream, as your awareness returns to your physical form - perhaps your head is no longer on your pillow and you can only move slowly, one heavy limb at a time, your head and your heart too heavy to do much more than land where they may, as uncomfortable as it may be.
