It’s the moment when you finally begin to believe you can do it, you can reach out and start over – but before you have the full faith in yourself to let go of the world you know completely. It’s the beginnings of courage, of owning what you want, and reaching one toe out to see if it’s real – but still being too afraid to let go of what you know. It’s the moment you see the possibilities of what you could be if you set foot and stepped into that new world, a colorful swirl of hope and joy, dipping your toe in by way of imagining what could be. Handmade oil paint, resin, and locally sourced beeswax on stretched canvas. Second in the Hanging On series, a series of paintings of figures holding on to the edge of the canvas, trying to hold on to something already gone, or unable to let go of the past.
