Escape Into Life, online arts journal, pushes the boundaries of visual art and
literature, blending the two together until they become one poem – a work of Visual Poetry.
Phillip Compton was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He received the Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music from Susquehanna University where he studied art with the renowned encaustic painter Dorothy Masom. He then received two Master of Music degrees in both Organ Performance and Music History from Temple University.
As a musician, Mr. Compton has performed internationally as an organ soloist and as a conductor. He has performed many recitals here in the US including several concerts at both the National Cathedral and Longwood Gardens. He was invited to conduct Christmas choral music in the East Room of the White House for the president's specially invited holiday guests on three separate occasions.
Mr. Compton specializes in portraiture (official portraits, family portraits) along with designing and painting works to specific requirements for client's homes and offices.
