Escape into Life, Arts and Culture webzine, is the production of a handful of odd and motley individuals.  Here are a couple of our main contributors. 

  Althea Bashar has been writing poetry since the age of 9.  She communicates to the world through her deepest emotions, and her poems attempt to capture what Virginia Woolf has called "moments of being".  You can find her poetry blog at Live Journal.  Her poems are featured in our regular "Daily Specials" feed.

Lethe Bashar, toward the end of his junior year of college, dropped out of school and traveled around the United States as a sort of wandering hoodlum.  He met an interesting variety of characters who all figure prominently in his stories on the Web.  The Novel of Life is based on Lethe's adolescent adventures in Madrid, Spain, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tucson, Arizona, and San Jose, California.  Lethe also keeps a blog at Lethe's Blog which is featured in our "Daily Specials" feed.

Gerar Gonzalez is a comic book artist and illustrator who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He has been collaborating with Lethe for almost a year now on the graphic novel, Lethe in Vegas.  Gerar draws and colors all the pages, while Lethe provides the story of his life.  If you like Gerar's artwork, you can now buy prints of any comic page at deviantArt. 

Cao Xueqin, author of the 18th century Chinese novel, The Story of the Stone, travels through time and space in a karmic cycle of rebirth to write some of the essays and meditations on the Blog of Innocence.  He likes to cover social technology, science, writing, art, and life.  He generally finds our present epoch amusing, but he prefers it over the 18th century, where he spends most of his time writing his novel.

  Veronica combs the vast pages of the Internet for fresh talent, finding new authors and artists to feature in Escape into Life.  If you would like to contribute, you'd best contact her at escapeintolife (AT) yahoo.com.  She also reviews manuscripts, poetry, and art submissions, so try to stay on her good side if you want in.
