MP3: Ho Hey by The Lumineers

Get ready to add another name to the ever-growing list of folk-tinged indie-pop buzz bands. This time it’s the Lumineers, a Denver-based trio that operates in the same wheelhouse as bands like Edward Sharpe and the Head and the Heart. Namely, they excel at campfire-ready singalongs backed by sugary sweet boy/girl harmonies and vaguely generic lyrics meant to conjure up tumblr images of olden times. But it’s hard to argue with the slightly formulaic nature of the song production when the final product is so damn catchy. Grab the mp3 below and feel free to shout a couple “ho hey”s the next time you see that Blue Moon commercial.
