MP3: An Argument With Myself by Jens Lekman

Swedish popster Jens Lekman is gearing up to release a new ep this Semptember and is giving away the first single for free.

We haven’t heard much from Jens since 2007’s well-received Night Falls Over Kortedala, an album marked by Lekman’s forlorn croon juxtaposed against lighthearted guitar strums and gentle strings. And although it’s been nearly four years since that album came out, “An Argument With Myself” would have fit in well.

There is a lot going on in just over three minutes of music here: accordions, synths, reggae breakdowns, and spoken word sections to name a few. But if you’re a fan of Paul Simon’s more tropically tinged numbers (say “You Can Call Me Al” or “Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes”), you’ll probably find a lot to like here.
