“Patrick Hoelck’s photography resonates because his darkness does not hide, pervert, destroy, or malign. Instead, it emboldens, signifies, nurtures, resurrects an individual for who they are: sexuality and celebrity status are consequential of being human—of being a man or woman, actor or actress, singer or musician, model or cult personality; glamour and attitude are consequential of one’s pride and self-respect.”
Although the imagery of her work is based in the reality of the everyday, through the use of allegory, she seeks to convey a sense of the extraordinary and the inherent meaning to be found in the commonplace.
After graduating from the painting department of the Tokyo Zokei University, he experimented with the Ukiyo-e Pop style.
I tend to start my work by experimenting with manual processes such as painting, drawing and paper work.
Mexican artist Alejandro Ramos Diaz, also known as Mondi, works in graphic design, illustration and animation.
