About The Artist

He smiles when he speaks of two-headed passion. Mohamed Éric Kahouadji, born in Algeria [1979] …, is both painter and house surgeon. The magic of his work operates.

“I paint at night, during my days off and when I do not care,” says Mohamed Eric Kahouadji. The rest of the time, it is internal maxillofacial surgery at the University Hospital of Angers. “I have always drawn a lot. Then I used the bomb to make graffiti.”

But the medical school, started in Paris and continued at Angers, are temporarily dormant passion. Until Mohamed did an internship in plastic surgery in the service of Professor Vincent Darsonval, amateur painter and sculptor. “He gave me lots of advice and facilitated my transition from the bomb with a brush.”

Mohamed may expand its range chart, fueled by pop art, figurative and narrative comics. While building on the imperatives of graffiti: “We must occupy the space as possible, up to finalize the design and the colors and think about before you start: Sometimes, I had very little time, especially When I acted in the RER! ” (Ouest-France)

The work of Mohammed Kahouadji oscillates between humor and irony. Constantly playing with the legendary personalities that haunt us – rock stars, politicians, cartoon characters, these paintings are never mere caricatures, let alone the mechanical reproduction of a situation. Something like a surge of love through them, like a desire to heal the wounds of the same Pop Art and turn-up against the cynicism of his approach. And if, like that wanted to Narrative Figuration with the manufactured object, painting by Pop found its share of humanity, and thus, the meaning of his vocation? (Frederic Charles Baitinger, Artension)
