Meyoko

Artist Bio

Based in Berlin, Meyoko is a young artist obsessed with details, ephemera, memories, dreams and nature.  She grew up on a visual diet of the strange trips in her books from Amazons, Amazons that she visited years afterwards. Her infancy was not easy, a daughter of a violent father. Her only one consolation was refugiarde in a world of fantasy and of dreams.

Textures and layering are an important consideration when creating her curious and sometimes bizarre characters and landscapes. The relationship between man and machine is another obvious fascination as she often juxtaposes organic and mechanical images to form surreal and whimsical narratives. Birds, insects and organisms are also a common theme throughout her work as she draws much.

Her work has been exhibited in Berlin and featured in fashion and lifestyle magazines in Paris, London, New York, Greece, Rome, and New Zealand.
