Matthew Williamson

I don’t remember exactly how I found Matthew Williamson’s Earph Exhibitions, but I was immediately stunned by the images. Designed mainly for posters and prints, these futuristic collages remind one of scenes from a sci-fi movie or a Pink Floyd cover. Williamson works as an independent web-designer in Austin, Texas. He says that Earph Exhibitions is his creative outlet. –LB
Initially shooting in black-and-white, Stephen Shore took up color photography in 1973 and produced thereafter pictures that would play an important role in establishing color as a valid medium in art photography.
He began to see himself as a photographer with a taxi, rather than a cabbie with a camera.
My work has been strongly influenced by the nature of my childhood; I grew up in snowy villages along the sea coast in northern Japan.
I’ve always been fascinated by landscapes – places that are absolutely desolate, where I can stay one on one with nature.
Among others, I chose Mooncalf.’s work for the Best Moleskine Art of 2009. These hauntingly beautiful illustrations combine elements of the natural, supernatural, and modern.
