Artist Bio
Fred Calmets was born in 1976. He lives and works in Poitiers, France.
Self-taught, my first paintings were sprayed on walls with aerosols (graffiti), an art form I practised for many years. I have participated in numerous collective workshops and worked with galleries since 2005. Having worked as a cultural mediator for the town of Poitiers, as a graphic artist for a magazine, I decided to dedicate myself to painting in 2009. Since then I have been engraving (aquatint, copperplate, etc), drawing, painting – and living. (Luxe Immo)
